While Jim Thorpe – the gateway to the Poconos- is a beautiful place to visit any time of the year, it’s especially magical come winter.

With the mountains around the Lehigh Gorge draped with icy springs and tree branches flocked with snow, there’s no better place to enjoy a quick winter getaway. (We are only 90 minutes from Philadelphia and two hours from New York City.)

The Blue Mountain Ski Area is just a short drive from Jim Thorpe  – a great place to relax after a day on the slopes. On milder winter weather days, Jim Thorpe’s mountains and trails minus foliage reveal the area’s natural landscape in a way you see no other time of the year. Don’t forget your camera!
