With the Tartan Terrors and the Manhattan Lyric Opera bookending shows at the Mauch Chunk Opera House this St. Patrick’s Day weekend, there is still lots to celebrate for folks of Irish descent in Jim Thorpe.
Led by Grand Marshal Peggy Sue O’Donnell, her aides – brothers , Michael and Francis “Dubber” O’Donnell and cousins Jean and Joan O’Donnell -and the lovely lads and lassies from the AOH and LAOH, the 16th annual Carbon County St. Patrick’s Day Parade, made its way down Broadway last Sunday.
Jim Thorpe’s shamrock bedecked store windows offer plenty of options for folks to get their Irish on before making a visit to to the Molly Maguires Pub and Steakhouse for a Guiness or a wee drop of Jameson.
If your tastes run more to the grape, there are still a few tickets available for the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail’s March Madness Passport. Goers will enjoy a food pairing for a unique way to visit each of the trail’s eight wineries.
