The flowers are blooming, the trains are running and there’s lots of great fun and entertainment this month in Jim Thorpe.
Penn’s Peak has Dark Star Orchestra onstage tonight. Get there early for a spectacular panoramic view of the area.
Be sure to check out Damn the Torpedoes when they return to the Mauch Chunk Opera House Saturday night with their tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. You won’t be disappointed! They put on a terrific show, which we caught last time they were in town. Guests of ours said they sounded even better than Petty and crew! Tickets: $20. Showtime: 8 p.m.
Don’t forget Sunday is Mother’s Day. If you can’t give Mom breakfast in bed, consider giving her a gift certificate to the Times House Bed and Breakfast.
Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 14 and start next weekend out early with Emmy award-winning actor/musican Jeff Daniels at our venerable ol’ Opera House with his son’s band – The Ben Daniels Band. Tickets: $30. Showtime: 8 p.m.
