Kick off Fall fun in Jim Thorpe Wednesday night at the Broadway Grill

Mixer20150923Come celebrate with the Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency as they welcome Fall, introduce the 2015-2016 Jim Thorpe Visitors Guide and get ready for a whole season of fun in Jim Thorpe, including Fall Foliage Festival weekends – recently  listed on a “28 Things to See or Do in Pennsylvania Before You Die” bucket list.

Sponsored by the Inn at Jim Thorpe and Rainbow’s End, the Autumnal Equinox Mixer featuring live entertainment, appetizers, raffle drawings, a cash bar and drink specials will be held at the Broadway Grill & Pub on Wednesday, Sept. 23 beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person, with every dollar raised helping JTTA volunteers promote the town.

Just 90 minutes from Philadelphia, two hours from New York and 35 minutes from the Lehigh Valley, Jim Thorpe is at the center of it all, where tourists and locals alike enjoy hiking and biking surrounded by Technicolor scenery, 36 shops, boutiques and galleries, 12 restaurants, bars and wineries, fantastic live entertainment at the Mauch Chunk Opera House, mansion, jail and ghost tours, along with a full slate of events from this weekend’s Jim Thorpe Victorian Home and Garden Tour to the Victorian Ball in November.

Sunday, Sept. 27 – Jim Thorpe Victorian Home and Garden Tour – Guided tours of historic homes and churches, along the streets of Olde Mauch Chunk. 12 – 5 p.m. Tickets are $16 in advance, $20 on tour day. For more information, visit

Saturdays and Sundays, Oct. 3-4, 10-11, and 17-18 – Jim Thorpe Fall Foliage Festival Weekends – Outstanding vendors (food, arts and crafts), free music events at four stages throughout the downtown area, ticketed headline shows at the Mauch Chunk Opera House, and seasonal specials from restaurants, and shops. JTTA plans, presents and promotes four major festivals each year: WinterFest (February), the Jim Thorpe Birthday Celebration (May), Fall Foliage (three weekends in October), and the Olde Time Christmas festival (December). These events attract thousands of visitors, who stay at hotels, B&BS, inns and campgrounds in Jim Thorpe and throughout Carbon County.
